Big bags for electrostatic requirements

It is our priority to prevent occupational accidents that can be caused by the accumulation and discharge of static energy. Our industry has classified big bag types into 4 different groups based on their static properties according to the IEC 61340-4-4 2018 – 3rd standard. TechnoPac produces big bags for all 4 groups. This is certified with certificates from recognized testing institutions.

Big Bag – Type A

This big bag is used with non-flameable filling materials. It has no protection against electrostatic gas discharges and for this reason may only be used in non-hazardous areas.

Big Bag – Type B

This big bag is used in hazardous areas. The fabric and coating of type B has a breakdown voltage < 6 kV, which we certify by a certificate.

Big Bag – Type C

Type C is used in all easily ignitable atmospheres. Conductive tapes woven into the fabric and other design features ensure that this Type C has low leakage resistance inside and out. This is to ground on all parts of the vessel < 10 to the power of 8 ohms and is tested and certified by us on every single FIBC. Grounding during the filling and draining process is absolutely necessary for type C.

Big Bag – Type D

Type D has proven its safety through its practical application, which excludes human error. Type D is made of Cromiq fabric, which releases the charged energy into the atmosphere without having to be grounded.

The Cromiq fabric was developed and launched in the early 90’s by Texene Industries. Cromiq fabric is designed to provide a protective solution without the need for grounding.
